A Review of R.E.M. Beauty’s Midnight Shadows Eyeshadow Palette in “Babydoll”

R.E.M. Beauty’s Midnight Shadows

When newly launched beauty brand R.E.M. Beauty founded by Ariana Grande dropped the Midnight Shadows Eyeshadow Palette, the product quickly made waves for bringing the singer’s signature sultry glam looks into accessible, ultra-blendable color stories. Available in three artist-curated color palettes, this $24 proprietary formula aims to elevate eyes from subtle daytime to scene-stealing evening. I took new neutral offering “Babydoll” out for multiple test drives.

At $24 with six versatile eyeshadow shades including both mattes and metallics, Babydoll first impressed with affordable value for the 1×1” mirrored compact. But the formula within also wow-ed. Grande aimed to develop a proprietary, talc-free texture that applies creamily while adhering evenly to lids without tugging or fallout. The rich color payoff reveals intense depth in a single sweep while effortlessly shifting from modern matte to lustrous metallic.

The brand surveyed over 25 testers to back claims, with an incredible 100% confirming intense yet buildable application without patchiness and 93% attesting shades blended smoothly without dragging. Both statistics proved out in my testing, too. I achieved soft daytime looks and dialed up bold glam simply by layering and blending shades seamlessly.

While extremely beginner-friendly, Babydoll still captivates with clever options like champagne pink Sweetheart matte, dazzling Sun Baby metallic golden peach and bombshell after-hours Boca Mocha rich brown. I appreciated the nuanced mix of warmth, depth and femininity. Overall, the intentional curation empowers self-expression from capuccino to cocktails.

For bottomless neutral looks effortlessly transitioning from the office to evenings out, the thoughtfully curated Babydoll overdelivers spectacularly at $24. I’m certainly recommending experimenting with this high-performing proprietary formula encouraging creativity through beauty. Sultry wearable shade options perform as flawlessly as Grande herself.
