DIY Baby Shower

I love to plan events and a great way to keep costs down is totally by DIY. Beauty is everywhere and it is just not in cosmetics, fashion, and skin care. It can be creative and bringing it to celebrations!

I have a couple of girlfriends having babies and I wanted to throw them a shower. Being on a budget I had to be creative in order to have it be breathtaking.

As most of us do, we go on Pinterest! I went there and used those inspirations. From there go to your local dollar store and interpret fro there. I also went to Michael’s and used my 40% off coupon as much as I can and/or checked out the specials going on that week. For flowers, you can go fake and you can get them at the dollar store as well, or find out your local farmer’s market or nursery. You can get 2 dozen roses for around $15! Just depends on what you are thinking of purchasing.

For the vases you can get at the dollar store as well or if you are like me, you can use old candle jars. Clean out the excess wax by boiling the jar (same as you would melt chocolate-Google), pour out the wax into a bag that you will throw out, and clean as you see fit. To get some of the sticky stuff I use Goo Be Gone.

An amazing way to create a cake is the diaper cake tradition. It’s easy and you can use ribbon to decorate it to the gender or it can be gender neutral. There are tons of directions on Pinterest.

It’s great to make beautiful things for your friends in these special times and it just adds to our passion in all things girlie!
