Ispy is another makeup and beauty subscription that I haven’t gotten in a long time. Ipsy and Boxycharm are now on the same website. Check out my August Boxycharm review.
August’s theme was Return to the Wild. I’ll be honest. I didn’t get it.
However, the bag that Ipsy is known for was super cute!
The Ipsy Glam bag comes with 5 sample sized products. I find that the sample size is always enough product to know if I want to purchase a full-size.
AMNH SKINCARE Lip Liner in Nude Rose
This lip liner claims to be smooth and long-lasting. I found it absolutely lives up to those claims. I rarely wear lip liner, so this product wasn’t incredibly exciting to me. In testing, it was creamy and very smooth. It also outlasted my lipstick. When wearing on its own as just an overall lip color, it lasted amazingly well. My only complaint is the cap doesn’t stay on. It just keeps popping up unless pushed down a bit more forcefully than I would like.
A full-size product came in the bag. At $32 for a full size, this is not something I will ever repurchase, but it is an amazingly beautiful lip liner.
GIVE THEM LALA BEAUTY Brow Gel in Clear
Brow gel is another one of those products I don’t really use. I checked, and I don’t even have one in my collection! My brows aren’t unruly, and I generally just don’t like the feel of brow gel.
However, this brow gel was incredibly light, and I forgot I had it on! The brush is small and easy to use. I can’t really speak to the hold because my brows don’t stray.
A full-size product was included in the bag, valued at $18.
GROWN ALCHEMIST Anti-Pollution Primer
This primer claims to create a protective barrier against blue light emission damage. It also claims to blur wrinkles and pores. The clear primer has a gel consistency and a silicone feel. It felt quite nice and I did see a slight blurring effect. My foundation lasted all day with this primer. I can’t speak to the blue light protection effects. However, at $42 for 50ml for the full-size product, I will have to REALLY love this primer to repurchase.
JLO BEAUTY Firm + Flaunt™ Targeted Booty Balm
J Lo’s Targeted Booty Balm balm has guarana seed extract and pink pepperslim, which, according to the product description, work together to help reduce the look of stretch marks and give an instant boost of hydration.
I can’t really speak to the reduction of stretch marks yet, but my mom belly and I will give it a thorough test. I can tell you it smells amazing and does feel very hydrating. A deluxe sample was included. The full size is a whopping $65 for 125 ml. I usually don’t spend that much on lotion, however, if this reduces stretch marks, I may just have to splurge! Did I mention it smells amazing?
LOTTIE LONDON Eyeshadow Quad in The Mauves
This quad has a beautiful color story. With two mattes, a shimmer, and a glitter, it’s a well rounded palette with a complete color story. It has a great transition shade, a perfect liner shade and the glitter isn’t chunky, although it did have some fallout.
A deluxe sample was included in the bag, but the full size is only $8.
The mauve color story isn’t anything unique, but it is a complete look in a quad without any misses on the shades. I definitely want to try more of these palettes for the price!
The color payoff is good, a nice medium between too light and very pigmented. I did need to build up the shades a little bit, but the shadows lasted all day and I love the look I created – a mauvy neutral look perfect for work.
